Update 03/2014

I have now lived in Santiago, Chile for 4 years and love it.
If you would like to get in touch with me, I would be happy to share what I have learned and what's new.

I'm Still Alive!!

A Santiago sunrise as seen from my window.....

Uufffff!!! I knew it had been a bit but it's been a month since I've updated this bad boy!!! Unfortunately for both of us, I need to get up early tomorrow morning so I don't have time to upload pictures and get into specifics covering the last month.....

I've been out to viƱa to visit my good friend, and got to see another friend from tahoe while I was there! I met a friend that has a keyboard, guitar and microphone so we've been messing around making some music. Went to my first Chilean Wedding last weekend!! I'll put some pictures from that one up on my next post..... also been working on a kind of provisional status right now..... working full time, and will do so for about a month, and if it all looks good, they'll offer me a contract so I can start applying for my work visa, and finally get my RUT (Chilean ID number). So yeah, been working a lot the last 2 weeks (sorry don't want to disclose the company name on my blog and publish it to the world (but you can ask me in private))..... but yesssss, things are going well.

Still working on Spanish..... every now and then I really feel like I hit a wall, but right now it's getting better. I'm finally understanding more and feel like when I focus I can understand a pretty good %. Just need to keep speaking and pick up more vocabulary. But I can already tell that working in a Spanish environment (tho I do speak some English with one co-worker) has really helped.....

So I've been here almost 3 months now and the current goal is to be where I'd consider "fluent" in the next 3 months....... which to me would mean that I could watch Spanish movies/TV and fully understand it, listen to native speakers speaking at their natural rate and understand it fully, be able to speak without elongated pauses and over-thinking.......... it's going to be hard, especially trying to be to the level of fully understanding Chileans.... but goals are usually a good thing yeah?

Ok, sorry for the lack of updates and lack of pictures.... I need sleep and the reason I haven't updated this thing in a while is pictures take a while to upload and I just keep thinking I'll do it later.... then suddenly it's, oh i need to go to sleep, I don't have time for all of this!! hahaaa........ ok, entonces, te vaya bien, cuidate, no te preocupes estoy biiiiiiiien!!!! Hope everyone is well, we'll talk soon, besos, chauuuu!!!!!!!!
